How to clean the sofa

Hopefully you are reading this article more out of curiosity than necessity. That is, you simply want to know how to clean the sofa and not because one of those dreaded stains has fallen on your sofa. In any case, if so, it will be good for you to know how to clean the sofa yourself, without resorting to outside help (unless strictly necessary) to minimize the consequences of the stain … and save money.

Clean Couches Sydney - For this we recommend that you take a look at these tips on how to clean the sofa … even before it gets dirty!

1. Place a sofa cover fabric

Our first advice is precisely to avoid staining the sofa. One as simple but at the same time as useful as placing a cloth to cover the sofa (a sofa cover). It will always be easier to wash that sofa saver than the sofa itself. The only hassle is having to stretch the sofa cover frequently after sitting or lying down, but this will prevent the stains from falling directly onto the sofa. And, in addition, our sofa will collect less dust.

2. Use the vacuum cleaner

When we vacuum at home we usually remove the dirt that is around the sofa and, at most, that underneath if we have the desire and strength to lift the sofa. But many times we forget that there is also dirt on the sofa itself and we do not vacuum there. It is not a matter of planting the vacuum cleaner directly on top of the sofa, but of using a suitable brush to suck up the dirt.

3. Cleaning a fabric sofa

Gather the following ingredients: water, lemon, baking soda, and white vinegar. We are not going to give you any cooking recipes, but we are going to get something that will give us as much satisfaction as preparing a delicious dish: leaving the sofa cleaner than it was. If your sofa is made of fabric, add half a glass of lemon juice or white vinegar and a small tablespoon of baking soda to about a liter of warm water. With that mixture, gloves in hand, wipe the sofa to remove the dirt.

4. How to clean a leather sofa

If your sofa is made of leather, you don't have to prepare anything special to clean it. Simply moisten the cloth with a little olive oil and gently wipe the surface of the sofa.

5. Wash the sofa covers

Surely you will get sweat just thinking about removing the covers from the sofa (if they are slip-resistant, of course), wash them, dry them and put them back on. Especially for this last step, which is usually complicated. To make reattaching the covers less of a hassle, put them back on when they haven't fully dried yet.
